another recursive tree algorithm based group of works.
many years ago, when i and a whole bunch of other openprocessing members started playing around with recursive tree algorithms, many different interpretations and ways were explored. the first approaches i made, which were rather crude and simple, have become increasingly refined and evolved from more graphic to painterly ways. at a certain point when i was developing the flowers with detailed petal shapes, i found that it immediately became naturalistic or even kinda cheesy, so i went back to working more consciously limited to just circles and lines.

i have never really tried to pursue a pure naturalism, but have always kept the minimalist approach in focus in order to distract as little as possible from the main interest – the composition.
to only have circles and lines as building elements and to reduce the color concept to 3 or 4 basic colors, no color gradients, or at least a little bit within the flowers but with slight deviations?
finally the pink – green complementary color scheme did convince me, and to give it a more depth i later added the yellow and rare blue to it within the strokes.
it was an almost endless game balancing back and forth between two worlds, and always keeping an eye on the feedback; does this work have power?
many different color versions have emerged over the years. also formats have been explored in all possible directions.
different printing tests on different materials and sizes have been made.
