tableau vivant

*tableau vivant* deepens the principle of layering: unlike *NoiseScape*, this series involves the precise superimposition of four to six distinct Perlin noise grids. Each layer follows its own color scheme based on curated color maps, which are randomized according to position during the process. In doing so, the series pursues a decidedly minimalist approach: the fundamental building blocks consist solely of squares and circles. Harmonizing the noise grids with one another is the truly challenging part. Yet, once they interlock perfectly, they lend the overall composition a depth and coherence that make all the difference.

*Tableau Vivant*  The works reveal it, even though it was not explicitly planned: the inspiration draws from two decades of life in Brandenburg. Fields, forests, clouds, wind, and lakes have deeply imprinted themselves upon the series’ visual DNA.
These are digital ecosystems that—in an almost naive nod to nature—emerge from the repetition and subtle variation of complex structures.
